Pony Club Training and competition training provided by Pat Crann
Pat's equestrian life has always centred around competition. Initially a successful 3-day eventer, she found her niche in show jumping, a discipline in which she continues to actively compete with success.
Show jumping internationally and achieving such accolades as winner of the La Baule Grandprix and BSJA National Veteran Show jumping Champion 2 years running, Pat is an inspiration to those in the equestrian world.

As a Midlands based BHS registered instructor, and with the more recent acquisition of the prestigious UK Coaching Certificate Award in sports coaching, Pat uses her knowledge and experience to dedicate her time away from competitions to coaching others. In her endeavour to aide the pursuit of a higher level of training in the equestrian world, Pat became increasingly interested in the Government's new initiative to raise the profile of Sports Coaching. Aimed at delivering the best available coaching techniques, the UK Coaching Certificate is deemed to be the benchmark for all coaches. In 2008 Pat became one of the UK's first level 3 UKCC sports coaches in equestrianism. Combined with her own knowledge and experience, this award has proven to aid her delivery of the most up to date, cutting edge coaching techniques. This takes into account each rider's needs and abilities whatever their level, whether teaching the very novice or coaching the more advanced competition rider. Her positive approach towards training not only produces excellent results but also helps to build confidence and self-belief in her students.

Her inter personal skills, enthusiasm and knowledge are beyond question, her students can only benefit from this wealth and recognised experience.

The UK Coaching Certificate is a new coaching qualification to 31 different sports at four different levels. In conjunction with the British Equestrian Federation and its member bodies, the British Show Jumping Association is helping to develop the new coaching qualifications and deliver the best available coaching techniques for our sport. All member bodies of the British Equestrian Federation have worked together to produce a United Kingdom Coaching Certificate in Equestrian Sport. The UKCC is a UK wide, 5 level framework for endorsing qualifications providing a framework for coaches working at all levels in all environments. The UKCC will ensure that equestrian coaches are delivering safe, high quality, rider centred coaching. Ultimately this will lead to success by helping to raise performance standards and increase enjoyment of riding and all equestrian activities ensuring that the UK becomes recognised as a world leader in coach development.
The UKCC qualifications are being developed across all sports and equestrian is one of the first 21 priority sports to be leading this initiative.
